Files

cv4pve-cli installs nothing on the nodes. On your machine it keeps its files in one folder of your home: ~/.cv4pve/cli/ on Linux and macOS, %USERPROFILE%\.cv4pve\cli\ on Windows.

File Content Written by
config Your contexts, with token and password in clear text. YAML. On Linux and macOS, permissions 600. config add, set, use, rename, delete
alias Your aliases. YAML. alias add, alias remove
cache/<version>-flat.json The API schema of a Proxmox VE version, for api, aliases and tab completion. The first api command or alias on a cluster of that version
completion.bash, completion.zsh Completion scripts, Linux and macOS. The first run, completion reset
completion.ps1 Completion script, Windows. The first run, completion reset

Both YAML files can be edited by hand, and copied to another machine.

The files in cache/ can be deleted at any time: the next api command or alias downloads the schema again. Files of Proxmox VE versions you no longer use are not removed automatically.
